You Won’t Care About This…

54 Seconds of Pure Frustration…

Addendum: Well, on my 93rd attempt, I finished the Motor City Short Reverse track with .17 seconds to spare and an “Awesome” rating.

You think I’m a bit competitive? ;)

Burnout Revenge was the first game I bought for my XBox 360 and I’ve spend a considerable amount of time trying to “beat” the game.  So far, I’ve completed 95% of it and have 7 6 more “stars” to go until the offline portion is completed.  For those of you who have played the game, you know what the stars are for.  For those uninitiated, each race has up to five stars you can achieve.  Up to four stars are awarded for your aggression level (i.e. taking out traffic, catching air, drifting, taking down your opponents, etc.) and the fifth is awarded for getting a Gold medal in that particular race.

Today, I tried to complete the Motor City Short Reverse Burning Lap race.  75 attempts (literally) and I still haven’t gotten that elusive 5th star.  I can make it in the specified time and get the next to best rating or I can get the best rating and miss the cutoff time by a bit (my smallest margin of failure has been .09 seconds.)

Oddly, I’m not pissed.  I didn’t feel the need to throw the controller or anything like that either.  I do, however, have a headache.

  2. lol. Since posting this, I’ve also won another 4 cars (only one more to go, and I don’t get that til I finish the game,) and completed 3 more races. I’ve got 4 more stars to get and 6 signature takedowns.

I’m telling you, you should definitely get this so we can play online.
