You Won’t Care About This…

Update

Well, it’s been a month since my last update.  Have had a lot going on, so I’ll recap.

My grandfather died a couple of weeks ago.  I spent most of my Friday nights for almost three years staying the night with him, helping him get into bed and up the next day.  In that time, I got to know him in a way that I otherwise wouldn’t have, so for that, I’m thankful.  As anyone who has seen a family member’s health deteriorate before their eyes can tell you, it’s a difficult thing to watch.  The rest of the family tells me that my staying with him was a blessing to him, but I tend to think that getting to spend time with him like I did was a blessing to me.  He was a kind, generous man.  I can’t imagine he ever had any enemies.  He was a consumate giver – I only hope I can be half the man that he was.

Otherwise, life, work, and love are good.  Getting excited about Christmas and spending time with my friends and family.  Bring on the snow!

  1. I’ve not had to go thru this myself, and I don’t ever want to. But i know it is part of life. WIthout death, life isnt as meaningful. My grandparents are both way up there in their years and we know its only a matter of time before they finish living.

    :/

But I know they live well and are happy and healthy now and that is what is important.
