Another one bites the dust…

Update

Well, it’s been a month since my last update.  Have had a lot going on, so I’ll recap.

My grandfather died a couple of weeks ago.  I spent most of my Friday nights for almost three years staying the night with him, helping him get into bed and up the next day.  In that time, I got to know him in a way that I otherwise wouldn’t have, so for that, I’m thankful.  As anyone who has seen a family member’s health deteriorate before their eyes can tell you, it’s a difficult thing to watch.  The rest of the family tells me that my staying with him was a blessing to him, but I tend to think that getting to spend time with him like I did was a blessing to me.  He was a kind, generous man.  I can’t imagine he ever had any enemies.  He was a consumate giver – I only hope I can be half the man that he was.

Otherwise, life, work, and love are good.  Getting excited about Christmas and spending time with my friends and family.  Bring on the snow!

So, today is Independence Day here in America.  Most of us have the day off of work or school.  Anyway, I’m riding in the car with my wife and she says, “I wish we were independently wealthy, so we could have family-days like this all the time.”

It got me thinking.

 Sure, it would be fun to be so wealthy that all you had to worry about was where to vacation next.  But, that would get awfully boring after a while.  So, why not reverse your routine?  Vacation 50 weeks of the year, and when you get bored, go to work for 2 weeks. 

Damn…  now I just need to figure out how to finance this operation.

Now what?!?

Well, finished the "main" quest in Oblivion, as well as the Fighters' Guild and Mages' Guild quests. I've got nearly 100 hours in this game so far, and still have 12 quests to go to finish up all of the "storyline" stuff. There are tons of miscelaneous quests still out there, but I don't know how many of them I'll actually attempt once the Thieves and Dark Brotherhood missions are done. Gee, maybe I'll get my life back!

Gamercard Update

More on Oblivion…

Getting more and more accomplished in Oblivion, but still very early in the main quest. I prefer all of the “side” quests, actually. At some point, I’ll concentrate more on the main story line, but for now, it’s fighter’s guild/mage’s guild quests for me.

Oh, and, “Do me guild master, ‘cause you’re the magic guy!”
